Kam River Dominates Fort Frances

Fort Frances, ON – The Kam River Fighting Walleye rode a Jack Orchard shut out to a dominant 8-0 victory over the Fort Frances Lakers on Tuesday Night.

The game was played by 2 teams that already know their playoff futures as Kam River will be the #1 seed and Fort Frances the #7. Kam River controlled the pace of play throughout the 1st period but struggled to get on the board and were only able to do so with 12 seconds left when Jeremy Dunmore found the back of the net. He was assisted on the goal by Max Leduc and Josh Morton.

In the 2nd period the Fighting Walleye opened the floodgates with 4 goals. Ethan Lang was first on the board with the help of Anthony Oveido. Isaiah Kinnavanthong scored his 1st goal of the season with assists going to Euan Morrison and Logan Gallaher. Just 30 seconds later Kennan Reyelts made it a 4-0 hockey game with a tally assisted by Kaden Goodwin and Josh Morton. Morrison would score a goal of his own unassisted to make it 5-0 heading into the final period.

In the 3rd Kobe Braham would score an unassisted goal of his own shorthanded, halfway through the frame to make it 6-0. Leduc would follow that up with back-to-back goals and the Kam River Fighting Walleye cruised to an 8-0 win. Jack Orchard made 26 saves and earned a shutout. Brenden Stroble stopped 44 in a losing effort. Fort Frances plays again Wednesday at Wisconsin and Kam River will close out the season hosting Dryden this weekend.
