Fighting Walleye Bring Morriseau Home

Thunder Bay, ON - The Kam River Fighting Walleye have announced the acquisition of 2002 born forward Trenton Morriseau from the OCN Blizzard (MJHL) in exchange for a player development fee.

The local product suited up for the Thunder Bay Kings U18 AAA team last season, where he put up 16 points in 20 NAPHL games.

“I’m very excited to get things going with the Walleye,” said Morriseau. “After seeing all the hard work from the owners to management and coaching staff, I’m very grateful to be a part of the inaugural season with the Walleye.”

Fighting Walleye General Manager Kevin McCallum is pleased to be able to make the trade for the talented 18 year old. “Trenton Morriseau was a player we identified last season with the Thunder Bay Kings and a player we were excited to make a move for,” said McCallum. “When Billy Keane from OCN called to make the deal it was an automatic for us to make the move. Trenton brings grit and the ability to score big goals when needed . We are happy to bring Trenton home to play in front of friends and family and to develop him into a college hockey player,” McCallum added.

“Huge addition of skill, character and work ethic with Trenton coming on board. It’s a big trade for us,” said Assistant GM/Director of Scouting Bryan Smeltzer.

“I’m looking forward to coming home this season and making an impact right away,” Morriseau added.

Trenton will begin practicing with his new teammates this week, in preparation for the start of game action.
