Red Lake, ON – Ashton Sadauskas made 34 saves for his third playoff shutout as the Kam River Fighting Walleye continued to roll, defeating the Red Lake Miners 4-0 in Red Lake. The Walleye can wrap-up the series with a win in Red Lake on Thursday.

Sadauskas has a 1.17 goals against average and .952 save percentage to go with six playoff wins. Kam River has 22 consecutive victories spanning 15 to end the regular season and seven more in the playoffs.

After a scoreless first Sam Sargent rumbled down the right wing from his own blue-line and put a shot past Noah Davis midway through the second frame for his first of the playoffs and a 1-0 Kam River lead. Defenceman Jacob Sargent skated through the Red Lake zone and fired in a backhand at 12:31 to double the lead.

Carter Poddubny ripped in his 4th high glove side at 15:02 of the third to tack on an insurance goal. The Miners took a late double minor to end any chance of mounting a comeback. Brydon Bell connected from the right circle at 18:04 on the resulting power play to round out the scoring.

Davis made 24 saves, many in the difficult category, in 28 shots. Poddubny added an assist earlier to his third period snipe.

The Walleye were 1-5 on the power play, and killed off four Red Lake chances.

The Miners took 36 of the 56 penalty minutes assessed.
