Welcome Ben Couvier

Thunder Bay, ON | The Kam River Fighting Walleye are pleased to announce the commitment of 2001-born forward Ben Couvier. The 6’3”, 180 pound native of Minitonas, Manitoba played the 2019-20 season for the Carrot River Outback Thunder in the PJHL. Couvier led the league in penalty minutes, with 171, to go along with 9 points in 31 games.

Fighting Walleye general manager Kevin McCallum is happy to add Couvier to the fold. “Ben is a tough, physical forward who plays with a lot of energy. Everyone we’ve spoken with has raved about him as a great team player and leader. We are very excited to bring a player with these qualities to the club,” said McCallum.

“Ben is known for his hardnosed F1 style on the ice, and with his grit and determination we expect his presence in the offensive zone to be felt,” remarked head scout Michael Hughes.  “In this league there are some smaller rinks that Ben will be right at home playing in.”
